A Beautiful English Mahogany Drop Front Desk c1800

A most beautiful English country mahogany 18th century secretary desk in the Chippendale taste. Exquisite patina c1760. Bottom surface of inside opens to provide access to the door as the door is faux.

The slant front opens to reveal numerous drawers and letter slots. Straight legs with flourishes in the corners. As useful as it is beautiful. A delightful and easy going piece. Dovetail construction, and ready to use! This is what is known as a cottage piece - it comes apart into 2 sections for easy of transport up and down the narrow cottage stairs! Imported from England. This is a solid and useable desk - plenty of room for a laptop.

Condition: ink stains, splits, scratches, dents, marks, stains, historical repairs, cracks, possibly replaced hardware, section of wood missing on side at cottage split (see photos) - beautiful patina!
