A Georgian mahogany cellarette with rising lid, revealing a spacious interior. Supported by a turned column and graceful legs that end in castors.  Beautiful brass hardware. A unique and special piece! Special Regency details and good color. Imported from England. Heirloom.

A cellarette is a small cabinet, chest or table used to store bottles of wine, liquor, or other alcoholic beverages. Cellarettes were popular in Europe from the 15th century and in America from the 18th century through the 19th century. They were often made of decorative wood and were kept in homes, pubs, and taverns.
