An English Regency Mahogany Buffet Sideboard or Desk c1800
A stately and sophisticated English mahogany Regency sideboard or buffet c1840. A beautiful waxed mahogany surface with wear in all the right places. Aged mahogany knob hardware and a 7 drawer configuration. Probably used to store silver, as each drawer is green felt lined. A simple inset brass escutcheon adorn each drawer. There was a door on the bottom side of this piece that may have been a secret hiding place (no longer open)! This piece has a very elegant feel to it.
Condition: scratches, dents, marks, stains on top, rings, stains in drawers, splits, cracks, worn spots, discoloration, historical repairs - beautiful patina!
